The heart of our business is collecting, cleaning, and comparing data so you don’t have to.
At times it seems like you can do this work yourself, and you may have actually done so in the past. But is this the best use of your time?
Gathering network data.
We collect public data for more than 250 provider networks. Then we thoroughly audit the data to make sure the information is complete. We remove duplicates, standardize names and addresses, and assign consistent specialties to ensure the data is clean and reliable. We cross-reference each file so that we have a single record for each provider with indicators to show which networks he or she participates in.
We update our data twice a year so you’re ready for the big spring and fall open enrollment seasons.
Counting network providers.
How you count is up to you – provider locations, unique providers, or offices – so you always compare “apples-to-apples.”
- The Provider Locations view shows each provider at each location where he or she practices. This method gives the broadest overview of all access points in a network and is what consumers see when they look at an online directory.
- The Unique Providers view shows each provider once, regardless of the number of locations where they practice. Counting this way is useful if you want to compare provider contracts instead of access points.
- The Unique Locations view shows each location once, regardless of the number of providers at the location. This view uses a similar counting methodology as accessibility reports.
